The project A trip to the roots of Europe: sharing culture and traditions with the help of new information technologies aims to bring different realities of distant people nearer, realities which are essential parts of that common link which is the Europe of the 21st century. In the first part of our project, we would like our learners to approach and start researching on legends, aspects of their culture and traditions of the area they inhabit. The use of computers for fieldwork and research is going to be an unquestionable tool for the first part of this Grundtvig project. The history and culture of each learning community represents the pillar of what is in its turn the history of Europe itself. In the second part of the project, learners will be able to share and disseminate the product of their local research amongst learners of the other participant institutions. Sharing and disseminating are two important steps towards the development of respect and tolerance among people who live in a different but not less valid way. The last stage of the project is the part we call "building material together" with the effort of all learners of all organizations, parting from our own roots and flowing into just one reality, which is the Europe we all belong to.
